Even CDs are all but dead by now, but vinyl records have a certain cult status. The same cannot be said for the audio cassette, but all the same you can convert either of the old formats with the ION Audio Duo Deck.

This gadget also plays your old records and compact cassettes through a small built-in speaker. Nevertheless, the main attraction is no doubt that the built-in circuitry can convert your analog rarities to crisp digital quality in a jiffy via USB to your computer.

It comes full featured, with software that removes distortion (maybe) and gives your old music a much-needed makeover.

The whole thing actually runs on batteries, but it also gets power from the USB bus, which is preferable during conversion. ION Audio Duo Deck is not released yet and there’s no pricing information available, but it shouldn’t be all that expensive.
