There is fierce struggle going on out there to be first manufacturer with new 3D Blu-ray players. Samsung could win the race with its BD-C6900 that’s about to hit the shelves.

Samsung’s BD-C6900 Blu-ray player supports the industry standard for 3D, meaning it can be connected to any TV that supports the same format, including HDMI 1.4 (3D). Obviously it also plays regular Blu-ray and DVD titles, but it also has the ability to connect to the Interweb and stream Youtube clips and so on.
Moreover, there’s a hard struggle to get a bite of the new market for 3D movies. Later this year, Sony’s PlayStation 3 will be updated with support for Blu-ray movies in 3D. Panasonic has also shown its DMP-BDT300 Blu-ray player that runs 3D movies on a “3D Ready” flat screen.
