Logitech Harmony 650 – Universal Remote on a Budget

Logitech’s range of Harmony universal remotes is pretty huge by now, but that won’t stop them from releasing a few more. The new 650 is aiming at the budget conscious buyer – it has what you need and not much more in terms of added fluff.

The Harmony 650 is no giant; instead we are greeted by a budget control with the basic features of the Harmony system, meaning it replaces up to five of your old remotes, has a screen where you can select commands and a simple system to program the control using macros. Macros are used to assemble groups of units in your home theater and turn them on or shut them down simultaneously for example.

What separates the 650 from the 600 is that the former has a color screen. If you don’t mind the old monochrome style you can save a few bucks in other words. The Harmony 650 will show up first and comes with a sub-$100 price tag.
